Teacher Goals - Dean Edwards
My personal goal is to provide a high
quality Visual Arts program that raises awareness; vitalizes and informs
students on the historical importance of the Arts; develops an understanding of the cultural
relevance and contextual nature of the Arts and to inform students and
encourage them to challenge the current direction and meaning behind current
Art practice.
The program will incorporate elements of the ICE and IGCSE Programs, which will
encourage our students to become Inquirers, Independant Thinkers, Communicators, Risk
takers. Students will be encourages to be Knowledgeable and Open-minded about International Culture through exposure to other cultures and .
Students are required to express themselves through the Visual Arts Program, developing their sensitivity to artforms and building their imagination through the application of research and critical thinking techniques. Students will learn to increase their visual perception and powers of observation through developing a greater understanding and reading of the visual signs, images and messages issued by the mass-media world that they experience daily.
Students will be given the tool kit for the successful development of Visual Arts products and will be able to systematically analyse visual images and time-based artforms.
Students will be demonstrated all required skills and techniques for the study program schemes through a Master Class Program that focuses on research, concept development,and correct application of technique and skill.
